Keto cheddar crisps can be made in 2 different flavors! Super easy to make these baked crackers make for great Keto, low carb and gluten-free snack option!
So if you follow me on Instagram, you already know that I am on this Keto journey and every day is a revelation! I have had fun doing Keto meal prep and trying out new Keto lunch and dinner recipes (Checkout Keto / Low carb Cheese Spinach stuffed chicken breast and Keto Creamy garlic chicken with broccoli ), but that one thing I am still wrapping my head around is Keto friendly snack ideas! The first 2 weeks were great while I had nuts, cheese cubes and some more nuts and more nuts , till I discovered these gluten free – Keto cheddar crisps!
Keto cheddar crisps are so ridiculously easy to make, that if you have never stepped into the kitchen in your whole life you still can make this recipe straight within 20 minutes! A very important point to note however is that make sure that the cheese slices are very thin to make the cheddar crisps more crispy, if they are thick they will turn out to be a lit chewy but nevertheless very tasty. While you can always make these Keto cheddar crisps in microwave, I prefer baking them in an oven than microwaving them (you can always try microwaving them too! )
I am going to try some more variations of making these Keto cheese crackers with garlic, basil, thyme and other spices and swap it with some other varieties of cheese and will let you know how it turned out!
Keto Cheddar crisps 2 ways:
Spicy Cheddar crisps :
These Keto cheddar crisps are sprinkled with oregano, chilli flakes, black pepper and salt on top and you can make them super spicy in flavour by increasing the chilli flakes.
Plain Salt and pepper cheddar crisps:
Some things are just kept simple! These cheddar crisps are sprinkled with only black pepper and salt on top and they still taste so good!
What cheese can you have on Keto diet?
The best thing about being on Keto is you can eat cheese, lots of good cheese! But make sure that you are having medium to high fat cheese and not processed cheese with low fat. Here are some type of cheeses you are allowed on Keto diet:
Aged Cheddar
Cottage cheese
Cream cheese
Mascarpone
Mozzarella
Brie
Blue cheese
Goat Cheese
Colby
Monterey Jack
Parmesan etc
Storing them:
I would be honest they taste the best just out of oven! But you can store them for 2-3 days in an airtight container.
If you make these (I know you will!), do let me know in the comments section below.
