Did I tell you that for the longest time I didn’t know how to make tea!!!
Infact I made a half decent tea, years after our marriage for a group of guests (god bless them!).Yes tea! Some thing so basic that you expect anybody can make! ( Don’t roll your eyes please!)
Now look at the turn of events I married into a family of chai lovers! And I was kind of mentally prepared that my mom in law (who is the biggest tea lover I know) will be disheartened to hear that her only daughter in law doesn’t even know how to make a simple cup of her favourite drink. I already had nightmares imagining how will I respond to her, when she tells me to make one in front of the guests! To my surprise unlike the stereotypical mom in laws I had seen around me and in movies who often say -‘Beta zara chai banana’ (Child, go make some tea), she never asked me to make one! Infact when she got to know that I can’t make tea she simply laughed and just said – ” Doesn’t matter, my son also doesn’t know!’. And I tell you, this sweet sweet lady won my heart that day!!

Thanks to tea bags, life is much more simpler for people like me! So when I got the opportunity to partner with Karma Kettle to curate recipes for their amazingly interesting range of gourmet teas, I rejoiced in joy!
If you are a tea lover OR a mango lover Or a mocktail lover OR if you are just wanting to celebrate the weekend or for that matter the summers, this ‘Aam Salaam Iced tea mocktail’ has your name written all over it!!! Made with real mangoes and Karma Kettle Aam Salaam tea which contains mango, cumin and mint, this is a drink you don’t want to give it a miss this summer!

So cheers to a great weekend and hoping you make this ‘Aam Salaam Iced tea mocktail’ as an answer to anybody saying – ‘Beta zara chai banana’ 😀

This really satisfying Mango iced tea is usually made with fresh ingredients like freshly brewed tea, fresh and ripe mangoes , mint, cherries, sweet lime wedges etc. However for the purpose of convenience I have added some replacements that you can use if you feeling lazy like instead of making fresh mango puree you can replace it with mango juice. But mind you the key ingredient here is a nicely brewed tea (no replacements for that one!).

Hoping you like and try this recipe and cheers to an amazing summer! Looking for more drinks this summer, try other mocktail recipes here .
