Jaljeera mixed with the goodness of Red wine Sangria is what makes up this tangy refreshing summer cocktail! Super easy to make this recipe gives an Indian twist to classic Red wine Sangria!

  • 1.5 tbsp Jaljeera powder
  • 750 ml Red wine (1 bottle)
  • 1/3 cup brandy
  • 3 oranges ( 1 cut in round slices and 2 oranges sqeezed into fresh orange juice)
  • 1/2 apple ( Cored, finely chopped into small pieces with skin on)
  • 4 sprigs mint leaves (optional)
  • 8-10 pieces ice cubes (optional)
  • soda/ sparkling water (optional for topping)
  1. In a pitcher, add freshly squeezed orange juice and brandy and mix well.

  2. Add the round orange slices, mint leaves and finely chopped apples into a pitcher and squash them a little using a wooden spoon.

  3. Gently pour the Red wine into the pitcher and add Jaljeera powder and give all the ingredients a very slow stir.

  4. You can let this drink chill in refrigerator for 1-2 hours to let the fruits infuse it's sweetness into the drink.

  5. Finally just before serving add ice cubes and/or top it with some sparkling water/soda and sprinkle few more sprigs of mint leaves. Serve it chilled.

Recipe Notes
  1.  If you prefer your red wine sangria sweet, you can optionally add brown sugar or organic sugar to the drink as well.
  2.  You can also increase the quantity of brandy to suit your taste and add sweetness to the drink.
  3.  DO NOT stir the drink too much as it disturbs the red wine flavour.
  4.  Leaving the drink to settle down and chilling the drink in refrigerator helps the fruits to infuse the flavours well and increase the sweetness of the drink.
